Research carried out by the vendor has produced the following information. The poster was originally kept by Stanley Kubrick at his Abbots Mead home until he moved in 1979. The poster was printed by Lonsdale & Bartholomew Ltd who previously printed Kubrick's posters for 2001 A Space Odyssey and Barry Lyndon. The official poster was printed by Leonard Ripley & Co of London. The final English versions of this poster did not include the heading 'A tale of modern horror', unlike this one. The film date is marked as 1979 here instead of the final version which indicated the date in Roman numerals.
