Humber Snipe Pullman 1938 We are proud to be entrusted with this piece of motoring history by the owner, who has entered it into our August auction.
This will be the first time in over 30 years it has been offered for sale, during this time it has been in storage but started and maintained.
This superb Humber Snipe Pullman was sold new in 1938 to the Nobel Chemical Finishes company, one of the companies owned by the Nobel family, founders of the Nobel Peace Prize.
The vendor tells us it was used during WW2 as a WD transport car, after which it was sprayed from its original black to grey and used in a film. It was then sold on and at that point was fully restored and painted the colour you see today, prior to the current owner acquiring it and putting it into storage.
It is fitted with a rare 3860cc engine and slit opening front windscreen. Its body has survived incredibly well and the interior is superb, with working glass privacy devider and fully functioning "quick release" windows. The newspapers that you can see were on the back seat and dated from the mid50s to mid60s!
Will be running when offered at auction but will require an amount of recomissioning prior to usesage, although we can confirm it rolls freely and the brakes all function.
The vendor tells us the tyres on it have not done 1 mile but were bought new 32 years ago!
A truly majestic piece of British engineering!
