Armstrong Siddeley 12-6 Saloon 1933 - Having purchased this car in 1997 the vendors father spent many an hour tinkering in the garage, making what was already a good car, better. Unfortunately in 2008 he passed away and left this and the rest of his collection to his son. Since then, other than being run out on the odd occaision to keep everything free and operational, it has remained where he parked it. Having decided that it was time for it to go we are proud the vendor has chosen us to do this for him.
The car in question is a very rare model 1933 Armstrong Siddeley 12- 6 Model, designating it as having a 12hp 6 cylinder engine.Previous to the vendors father purchasing it, it had under gone a full restoration and is still in excellent condition externally. The interior trim shows slight signs of dryness to the seat leather, or "Patina" as its often called, otherwise is very nice with all the rear blinds, exit handles etc in place. Mechanically it is spot on and would need very little re-comissioning if any acording to the vendor, prior to use. The 6 cylinder engine and its "pre-select" gearbox both operate well and it brakes in a straight line. Obviously you do have to remember it is a Vintage car and should be treated as such.
The other notable thing about this car is its history file with invoices, bills of sale etc stretching right back over its lifetime, complete with old pictures of its restoration at the end of the 80s. These cars rarely come to the market and as such we feel the vendor is being very realistic with his reserve on this beautiful bit of motoring history.
Better pictures will follow when we have it out of the garage ( when the rain stops!)
