Chesil "Speedster" 356 Porsche Replica - Built using a 68 VW as a base so historic and tax free, this 356 replica Chesil Speedster is definitely one of the better 356 kits we have seen, having been built by Chesil themselves on behalf of the original owner. No expense was spared and this shows in the finish of the light blue metallic paint on the outside, with its gold Porsche motifs, through to the interior which is blue leather with colour matched quality carpets. Then toped of with a quality mohair hood in blue. Ironically some of this is probably better quality than you would find in an original car, even the side widows are wind up so no need to carry the normally hard to find wet weather side screens around with you. It is fitted with an 1800cc version of VWs flat four air cooled engine so this "Speedster" not only looks the part but goes well too. Chesil kits are very well thought of kits and this shows in the quality of the finished products they produce. It really is very hard to tell the difference, especially as this what also sounds right as it drives by. Thats the point though isnt it? Have a car that looks like its 100,000 that costs one fifth of that. The vendor gives all the mechanics as very good and with a current MOT through to September 2017, says it is ready to go.
