Mercedes 190E 2.6 1992 - Having been released from the life as a "Film Extra" by a production company, this lovely 190E Mercedes last job was to drive the character Ruth around in the TV series Doc Martin.
First registered in October 1992 it has the desirable 2.6 litre engine, a super smooth 6 cylinder petrol engine that gives a surprisingly good turn of speed if required. Oil pressure is very good and there no nasty rattles present. The automatic gearbox, selects gears properly and generally the mechanics are described as being good throughout.
Body work is very good with no signs of rust or dents etc just the odd minor mark here and there but nothing you would worry about. Interior wise there is wear to the side of the drivers seat, a very common problem on this model, the rest of the seats are very good and have the optional front and rear arm rests. Dash is very good with no splits and all the switch gear and dials work correctly. Electric windows, with factory tinted glass front and rear are fitted, the vendor does say the l/h rear window is inoperative. Otherwise the heater blowers and central locking function correctly. A new MOT will be placed on the car prior to the sale and it comes with its service and hand books.
Mercedes poured everything into the design and production of the 190 Model range, often leading to them being referred to as the last "proper" Mercedes to be made. Hence why they were used throughout the world as taxis etc, famous for their reliability and hardiness. Recently the classic car world has woken up to just how good they are with nice examples becoming sought after.
