Cadillac Coupe Deville 1976 - 1976 saw the last of the Full Size Caddys and the Coupe Deville set the bar high when it was launched in 1972, it set the record for interior width in a car, the rear shoulder room being 64 inches, these are big cars! So this 76 version marked the end of an era. Weighing in with a kerb weight of over 5000 pounds it needed the new for 1975 500 Cubic Inch V8 Engine (8200cc in pounds shillings and pence) with its 210 horse power and prodigious amount of torque, this resulted in what some people found a surprisingly quick car off the line and soon it became the car to have, favoured by celebrities and some less desirable characters alike. Imported from Canada in 2011, it was then unfortunately left outside as before arriving in the UK the owner had lost his licence, during this time the custom black metal flaked body work has suffered in places and will now need remedial work although its current owner likes it this way and as its his daily driver is not after a trailer queen that he is scared to use. Mechanically that big old V8 pulls now just as well as it did in 76, effortlessly cruising at motorway speeds, in fact we must say that mileage is going to be going up a thousand or so as he is going to Scotland in it for one last road trip before it goes. Gearbox brakes and all other general mechanics are good. The air shocks on the back work correctly help give the car according to its current owner that feeling of it floating down the road. The interior is in excellent condition with things like the electric seats, windows, door locks and Air Conditioning all working correctly. Currently MOTd through to November the 27th, this imposing car is ready to be used as is or restored as you go. A whole lot of car for not a lot of money and one you can drive home in.
