Mercedes SL30024 1992 Having sat in the vendors garage more or less since he bought it 3 years ago this nice 1992 Mercedes SL30024 valve convertible is now being offered for auction. Presented in the unusually called blue black which is more of a grey the body work is in good order with only the odd mark here and there and the exterior bright work and alloy wheels are in nice condition too. The hard top is with the car and the vendor wishes to draw your attention to a problem with the soft top. Although the roof itself is good it does need a new back window as the original window that is still in place is cracked badly and not water tight. It never worried him as on the very rare occasion he drove the car he had the roof down as the sun was out. The grey leather and burr wood veneer trimmed interior is in very good condition with none of the normal wear on the drivers seat side bolster and all the general electrics work. Its 24 Valve 3litre 6 cylinder engine runs very nicely with good oil pressure and no overheating issues while the gearbox changes gear very smoothly. Not as powerful as the V8 engines the 3 litre 24 valve unit is not far behind and its lighter weight and faster revving nature make these Mercedes sports convertible fun to drive. The rest of the general mechanics on the car are good. Unfortunately the vendor did not receive the service history with the car so the 65000 miles recorded on the odometer cannot be warranted as correct but in his words It drives well and the lack of service book never worried me The Mot has run out but having only done a matter of 200 or so miles since the last one (passed with no advisories which has done every year he has owned it) a fresh mot will be carried out before the auction. Hopefully the damaged rear window in the soft top roof and this lack of history is more than made up for by a very low guide value. Making this car someones chance to buy a lovely Mercedes Convertible at below market price.
