Washington Whips (Aberdeen) 1967 Tour Pennant: A competition organised by the North American Soccer League where international clubs would change their name to generate local interest. Aberdeen were the Washington Whips and this was given to opposing captain Maurice Setters of the Cleveland Stoker who were Stoke City. Measuring 17 inches we do not know if it originally had a pole or not. Lyndon Johnson the USA President claimed he was an Aberdeen season ticket holder as a publicity stunt. Claimed to this day to be Aberdeens most exciting match, they got to the final and lost 6-5 to Wolves with a sending off. Rare Aberdeen item. C/W two postcards from other participating teams.
