England Amateur Football Players Pre War Memorabilia: Incredible collection too good to split up following the career of Roy (Roland) Mathews consisting of caps programmes and many signed dinner menus and itineraries. Mathews was a Walthamstow Avenue player and at the time Avenue were one of the best Amateur teams around and were finalists of the Amateur Cup in the 30s. He represented Essex County and the England Amateur FA on many occasions. There is a programme for England v Wales at Portsmouth in 1937 with his itinerary signed by him and his team mates. There are from a similar era 2 Walthamstow programmes one announcing his illness and a further announcing he is back. There are 3 caps 9 cloth blazer badges and a large quantity of itineraries and menus often signed.
