A rare WWI Australian medal group comprising Victory Medal, War Medal and Distinguished Conduct in the Field Medal presented to 1842 GNR: L.E. Barrett. 101/Howz:by:Aust:F.A. complete with 9ct gold fob in the form of a boomerang, kangaroo and emu presented to the same recipient (Lindsay Ernest Barrett). Barrett was recommended for the Victoria Cross and awarded DCM ' For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When a shell killed or wounded the whole of two detachments except himself he continued to lay, load and fire, one gun by himself for ten to fifteen minutes until ordered to stop and assist the wounded.' complete with photocopies of associated documents
