A rare 18th Century style Norwegian silver heart shape hovedvandsaeg or vinaigrette recorded as being used as a love token, a man offering the box to a lady as a declaration of love and further enhanced by engravings of the initials of the couples. This box decorated with a gilded crown and with the initials M and S to the front, stamped marks including a letter B, possibly for Bergen.
