Karslake had numerous solo exhibitions, and became famous for his depictions of celebrities such as the Rolling Stones, Johnny Depp, Michael Caine and Grace Kelly. The Karslake Centre, a centre for arts education, was opened at the Cornelius Vermuyden School and Arts College on 15 September 2005.
