Sir David - Sponsor: Davis Construction (South East) Ltd Artist: Nicola Mills In 1890 the pier opened its first single track electric railway in the country. Fast forward a few years and Southend-on-sea is home to a new, rather smart looking electric train. Sir David is painted with heritage green, this pays homage to his past. He spends his days taking his friends up and down the pier and recharges at night.
