Lot number: 146
Citroen DS Super 1970 Manual - With its 2.1 litre engine coupled to the sought after 5 speed manual gearbox, this recently arrived in the UK DS Citroen was described to us as being "a bit of a flyer" on its way over. Effortlessly cruising at motorway speeds, in the true comfort only Citroen offered in the sixties and early seventies.
Mechanically all is good, especially the engine and gearbox. Cosmetically it is good with some small areas that could be improved, but nothing that detracts from its general good looks and far better than cars that have been offered lately at nearly twice the reserve this one is offered with!
Interior is a nice original one with that smell and feel you only get from the original leather etc. There is some general ageing, I think its called "Patina" nowadays, but again nothing that a good feed with leather treatment and a clean would not improve, its lasted 46 years and would be a shame to do more. Roof lining is very good as are the dash, instruments, door cards etc etc.
So if youre in the market for one of these instantly recognised cars at a price that will not break the bank but one that is mechanically strong and perfectly useable as is, this has got to be considered.
Supplied with all its French papers to allow registration in which ever country it sells to and an age related registration if it stays here in the UK
Note. Car pictured as arrived and not cleaned yet.
