Lot number: 112
Morris Minor Million 1960 - In 1960 the Morris Minor made history when it became the first British built car to sell 1,000,000 units! Hardly surprising when you think this incredibly hardy and reliable car was produced to do just about every job a motorised vehicle could do at the time. From Mid-wifes to post men, families, single people you name it there was a Moggy in the range that fitted the bill. To mark this achievement 350 Lilac coloured cars were produced with a white leather interior and black piping on the seats, special badging and wheel embellishers. This was called the 2Minor Million
This early in the run 1960 produced example comes to auction after a 15 year long ownership by the vendor. In his own words condition wise it is Like a four year old car With the exterior, interior and mechanics all being described as Excellent with a sub note on the interior maybe benefiting from a light wash, but all original.
Having only had 2 owners and showing a believed correct, but not guaranteed, low mileage of only 32000 miles, this lovely rare Moggy has just past its MOT on the 3rd of March so that will see the new owner through to next year.
With now less than 60 apx. Left in existence of the 320 Right Hand Drive versions made, these Millions rarely come to market so this represent any collector or enthusiast an opportunity to own a bit of British motoring history and one that will only go up in value.
