SAAB 93 TURBO Convertible 2001 - Now no longer in production, SAABs are slowly beginning to find ownership in the hands of collectors outside of the owners club. This is because they are a very good car, excellent build quality and strong mechanics. This is what bought about the companies down fall. A refusal to compromise on quality and build to a price which eventually caused GM the parent company to cry Enough and close the Marque down.
This lovely April 2001 example is a 93 Convertible with very low mileage and owned by members of the Saab owners club. Being an SE spec car it is fully loaded with all the toys, reverse sensors, power hood etc etc . With better quality leather seating and wood finishes in side. The cab is a nice place to spend some time and puts many a more expensive car to shame.
Its 38150 recorded mileage is backed up by a full history. Its MOT history shows 20949 in 2006 and in fact apart from 2012 when it needed new rear tyres then in 2016 a rear box on the exhaust, this car has not failed an MOT quite a feat for a 16 year old car. Mechanically it is spot on, its 2 liter engine is equiped with the High Output turbo so not to be confused with the lesser low pressure unit, giving it a very useful turn of speed, pulling strongly through all the gears and making for easy overtaking when required. Overall the rest of the general mechanics and electrics work exactly as Saab designed them too.
Exterior is very nice, the roof condition is stunning. There is the odd car park dink on its flanks but nothing that detracts from its overall good looks. With an MOT through to November this car if properly looked after will last its new owner for years by which time its ridiculously low value today will be a thing of the past we are sure.
