Jaguar XK8 Convertible 4.0Litre 1999 This 1999 example of Jaguars achingly pretty sports convertible XK8 has covered 158K miles and comes complete with its own personal number plate.
The overall exterior condition is good and the rare to see gold metallic paint presents very well with a nice deep shine that comes to life when the sun hits it. The alloy wheels are very nice and the black soft top hood is in good order. Inside you find the lovely interior of a car that may have been used and covered some distance in its life (It is a Grand tourer after all) but has been looked after. No cigarette burns or nasty stains just acres of leather and Burl wood veneer and still today a very nice place to be. Whether its a blast to the South of France with the roof down or sitting on the M25 looking out at a grey sky and wet roads hard top on heater blasting these cars are easy to live with and why they make such a good every day classic.
The vendor reports that the engine transmission overall mechanics and running gear are all in good condition and the MOT is until September the 26th. So plenty long enough to get out there with the roof down and make the most of the stunning summer we are going to have this year there is no harm in being optimistic after all.
With Etypes now all but priced out of the range of mere mortals and not everyone warmed to the XJS the XK8 is the next car in the line feeling a distinct increase in demand and why not? A storming V8 out front looks that hark back to the old days of when Jaguar ruled the road and track soft top or hard top and at prices that would not buy a new tin box from the Far East. Makes sense to us!
